Exploratory Data Analysis is a preliminary form of analyzing spatial data to determine which further analysis to run and get a good early picture of the data.

  1. 9-11 call locations were the data in this case. Tests ran include Mean Center, Directional Distribution, Average Nearest Neighbor, Global Autocorrelation via Global Moran’s I & Getis-Ord General G, and Local Autocorrelation via Anselin Local Moran’s I & Getis-Ord GI*) to model spatial relationships of 911 calls among Kingston, Ontario’s neighborhoods.

Figure 1 shows Standard Deviation and Figure 2 is a heat map of call counts.
